3D Rendering of Cafe modeled in Revit with varied seating options and generous circulation allowances for ease of flow in and out.
Description:
A new model for an art center in downtown Toronto that provides affordable temporary housing and studio space for professional artists under one roof. The Cafe is a central node where visitors can slow down and take time to absorb the art, gather, and study.
Varied seating options accommodate different user groups and provide a comfortable space to re-fuel and relax. Banquette seating, lounge sofas, and a co-working table draw different users and foster community use as a third space.
Artwork from Vancouver-based weaver Brent Wadden adorns the walls in connection with the concept of the loom, and Risom chairs from Knoll reference the warp and weft of the creative process. Ceramic tiles, quartz countertops, reclaimed Douglas-fir pine panels, and scuff resistant paint were specified for durability and sustainability features.
