One of two covered entrances with dry edge stonework to match the architecture of the existing house.
Description:
Like so many homes in cottage country, this one was missing a garage for car and boat storage. The clients fell in love with spending time up north in all seasons after purchasing their cottage, but wanted to upgrade their lifestyle with a coach house addition with storage space and home gym.
Designed to match the architectural style of the existing house and vernacular of the surrounding area, the new structure was planned to withstand the harsh northern Ontario winters and provide connection to the expansive lawn with custom carriage doors and a balcony for summer living.
The second level features residential grade finishes that will make it easy to convert into a secondary living space in the future. Custom mirrors and a wall mounted ballet barre in the gym boast views through custom glass doors to the forest. The balcony was designed large enough for yoga mats, with glazing that feels light and airy above the property.
