3D Rendering modeled in Revit depicting Artist Studios with furniture on castors to support ease of movement.
Description:
A new model for an art center in downtown Toronto that provides affordable temporary housing and studio space for professional artists under one roof. Dedicated studios and communal areas support diverse user needs for fabrication and experimentation. Providing a hub that fosters creativity, collaboration, and connectivity for artists as entrepreneurs.
Curtain walls encase semi-private studio spaces surrounding a central meeting space, project table, and lounge. Furniture on casters allows artists to customize their own studio layout and bring personal equipment.
Resilient cork flooring in the studios and circulation paths can endure high traffic, scuffing, and harsh chemical cleaners for mess. Wood paneling, acoustic ceiling panels, and carpeting provide acoustic sound buffering and add visual interest that mimics the fiber elements of threads on a loom.
