Sauna interior featuring clear western red cedar and Muskoka granite stone tile.
Description:
A Nordic sauna designed for year-round forest bathing. After reviewing pre-fab options on the market, the client wanted something constructed with higher quality materials that could accommodate large gatherings. Clear western red cedar planks shine against locally sourced Muskoka granite stone, chosen to mimic the feeling of bare feet walking on the Canadian shield native to this region.
Carefully situated with a view to the forest line and creek that runs through the property, the covered entrance is shielded from high winds and has heated floors that melt snow in the winter.
Visitors enter first into a vaulted changeroom area complete with a dual rainfall/waterfall shower for cold plunges. Inside the sauna, dimmable LED lighting in the ceiling and below benches allows maximum user control. Bluetooth speakers compatible with high heat and steam thresholds complete the therapeutic experience.
